Thanks for the photos, some nice tartans. Steves kilt appears to be a little on the long side though.

It is a new fashion .... the ankle kilt!
Actually, Steve is wearing one kilt, but has draped the kilt on which he is working, on his lap. You can see all the pins in that kilt if you look closely.

Reason: Better explanation of the apparently "long" kilt.

Kilt Kamp 2018 is over, and students (and Barb) are dispersing back to their homes. The Wizard of BC and Kilted Knome will rest tomorrow, and then start to reassemble Freedom Kilts!
It was a great Kamp, and quite a few of the Kampers completed their kilts, and others were so close it will take only a few hours' work once home. For the Kilt Shop puppy "Awynn", this was her first experience with so many people at one time, and I would like to say she graduated with flying colours!
Here are a few more photos ..... I suspect some Kampers may later post photos they have taken.

This is the Kilt Shop puppy, sporting a bandanna of Australian fabric, courtesy of Lady Grey.

A little "lunacy" at Kilt Kamp
Photo below taken in front of Steve's shop at the end of Kilt Kamp shows hhastings, flyingpiper, and Barb T. in their Moon-themed kilts.

The tartan on the left and right is the Lunar tartan, designed in 1970 by Ian Maxwell to commemorate the Apollo 11 Moon landing. Colors represent the colors of the lunar surface plus a red stripe for the rocket flame. The tartan in the center is the Earthrise tartan, designed in 2014 by Steven Patrick Sim to commemorate the famous photo of the Earth taken from lunar orbit during Apollo 8. The rationale for the sett colors and proportions is complex, and you can read about it in the Register listing at https://www.tartanregister.gov.uk/ta...ails?ref=10983
Here is a zoom-in so that you can see the tartans better:

hhastings made a trad box pleated kilt, and Barb T.'s is box pleated as well but as a dropped waist (same construction, but sits about 2" below true waist with no rise). flyingpiper's kilt is a Kingussie. Back view below!

I would suggest a “well done” to the instructors as well!

He had never operated a sewing machine and certainly not one of my industrial machines.
For a guy walking into the course totally cold without knowing what to expect beforehand, all I have to say is - Well Done Jamie.
Well, that adds a healthy dollop of encouragement for me, let me tell you! A good looking kilt right there. All the kilts shown look terrific!

This seemed like the best place to drop a link. T-shirts, totes, other products that have the entire text of The Princess Bride (plus some fun negative space artwork). I forget how to tag a person but BarbT in particular needs to see these!
ETA duh, Sydnie, include the link. . .https://www.litographs.com/collectio...princess-bride
In kilt news, Bob loves his Culloden kilt and looks forward to my putting needle to the bias cut vest from same.
