Warpiper
WARPIPER confirmed that he will be there (I think he said Sunday?) His band is playing at 3:00 I think and otherwise he'll be in the clans area.

If he's there on Sunday only I'm afraid I'll miss him. But I'll be in the clans area much of the time, too.
Duty calls back at church on Sunday mornings, but I'm likely to stay kilted for the whole weekend.

Looking at the weather forecast for the weekend, it looks like rain on Friday should be ending before the opening ceremonies. Rain is expected Saturday midafternoon, too.
Bring your umbrella or your raincoat! Wellies might not be a bad idea, either.

Opening Ceremonies
We're definitely attending Friday's opening ceremonies. It mentions admission and parking are free? I assume it's because most things are closed for the ceremonies and cčilidh. I did hear that there would be food served during the cčilidh / after the ceremonies. This being my first ever Wisconsin Highland Games, I'm not sure what to expect as far as eating goes. Can someone share a bit of past experience, please? Thanks!

If your taste turns to fish and chips or BBQ I think you'll be happy. Opening ceremony is quite an experiance.

Aww. So if I'm looking for anything resembling haggis, I'll have to wait for Saturday (or book a plane to the UK where real haggis is legal?)

It was good to run into MNLad yesterday at his booth in the cultural center.
Warpiper I know already — he is the Pipe Major for our Priory of St. John the Baptist.
I’m sorry our paths didn’t cross, imbrius. Perhaps another time. Hope you and your wife enjoyed the games!

We only got down there on Friday night and left after the opening ceremonies. She was feeling overwhelmed this week and really just wanted to take this weekend to relax at home and then go to our friends' barbecue today. We accomplished that and now feel refreshed! I, too, am sorry that our paths didn't cross. This is a community I certainly would love to become more involved in.
