What sort of reaction do you get off your wife after the ouestion.

    Hi all,
What reaction do you get off a wife or partner after the question has been asked. I remember when I was at a black tie night with my wife, we were on the dance floor when suddenly she grabs me by the lapels of my pc and spins me around and states I'm going to slap her, what I didn't realise was that a woman sat behind me was reaching over to lift my kilt. She got to the hem and my wife was not impressed to say the least and I had to calm her down it but took a while.

Your title doesn't reflect what happened. You actually seem to have had some lady try to semi-disrobe you! I'm pretty sure my wife wouldn't have told me she was going to take out the other lady - she probably would have just gone ahead and done it (she is a New Yorker after all).

I've had women (both that I know and don't) try to lift up my kilt. Not while my wife was around; thank God, I just don't have the bail money...

I don't really find that all that amusing, really. If I did that (or tried to) to a woman...well...I'm pretty sure I'm not the type that would do well in jail so it'll never happen (plus, that's not how my parents raised me!)

I did get the question once in her presence - an older guy (older than my 48 years) asked. I used my one of my now-stock responses - the one about it taking one of three ways to find out with two costing him $5 each and one which will earn him $13.67 the hard way. My wife's response - that guy's creepy for asking.

I'm with her on that one.

I think your wife was very polite and restrained.

I would have given her a foul mouth tirade -although the slap I would have taken outside... I’m old school like that!

This sort of behaviour from women makes me furious and more so when I’m with male friends wearing a kilt I’ve made for them.
    - I’ve also threatened to call the police on one occasion, I got the whining “it’s a joke” .... no it’s not a joke, it’s sexual assault.

    Rant Over
    Sorry

Ha, my wife would have gone "red dawn" as we call it around my house. (She's a redhead with a lovely temper). No exaggeration she would have snatched up my sgian dubh and that lady would have lost a hand.

It only happened once. I was showing-discussing the Model A at a college home football pregame. Two women (my age and cocktail encouraged) posed the question with giggles and blushes. I pointed to my wife (she was 100 feet away and watching intently) then said, "Go ask my wife. I'll do what ever she says." They turned to look at her. The glare burned to the paint off the front fender of the car. The women fled into the crowd.

My wife knew and gave them the "look". It was enough reaction without a word spoken.

Wow, you guys hang out in some rough crowds. I’ve never been asked or touched with or without my clerical collar.

I know she is normally well mannered and very polite, but this question always gets to her goat and can't understand why they want to know. Sorry for the start got a head of myself.

I've only had one older gentleman make a joking reference to what is worn under the kilt though no actual asking to which the wife rolled her eyes. No one has ever gotten as bold as your situation either with or without her present but the wife would not take it well at all.

I have been groped by both men and women whilst wearing a kilt. I've received suggestive remarks on four different continents.

For some reason it seems to be socially acceptable and you are a bad sort if you don't see it as a bit of high jinx.

As said by many others here, it isn't acceptable for anyone to treat anyone in this manner. However, even though it would never stop me from wearing my kilt, it does give me the briefest glimpse into what women have to deal with on a far more regular basis.

I've got to be honest I do think the woman had a few drinks down her, but no excuse for her behaviour. This has only happened the once thank god but I've had the question a few times to which I've told my wife to ignore, which she has but it still does not go down well, usually I get positive comments.
