    interesting Ebay sporran badge

This sporran appeared recently on Ebay.

The sporran itself is of a standard pattern, widely available, and which had been in production since around 1900.

It's the badge that's interesting to me. It seems familiar but I can't place it.

You can see that while the cantle is chrome plated (indicating fairly recently made) the badge appears to be German Silver, which throughout the 19th century and well up to the mid-20th century was the standard metal for bagpipe fittings, Highland buckles and brooches, cap badges, dirk and sgian fittings, and sporran hardware.

Can anyone identify the badge? Thanks!

Not thatI could say anything definitive, but at a glance does it not have some elements in common with the Royal Coat of Arms of Scotland? ie Thistles, Lions, Unicorns?

The shield has a Saltire, not the Lion Rampant.
