When I received my black 6 yarder from 21st Century Kilt, I paired it with black hose. I thought that it was a good look, but the missus told me all that black was too reminiscent of a Catholic priest. She liked the black hose with tartan, however.

As for the question that started this thread, I would opt for the green flashes with black hose. With some tartans, black flashes work well with black hose for that black on black look. But in the case of the Cummings Hunting Ancient, I do like the idea of green.

I like both colors, tho the ancient red would probably be more of a color splash than the green.

I wear green with my black hose and think the green would be better in your case as well.

Having the cream hose I will go with these for the 'coat, tie and white shirt events'. Everything else I go with the black hose. I go with the green flashes because I like the red in the kilt (Gunn) to draw the attention.

    Again, personal choice...

    black hose...

Thanks to everyone for their replies and suggestions! I do appreciate it.

Another option I thought about was reversing the colours and going with dark green hose with black flashes -- a possibility at least!

    Cheers,

    T.
