    I think it will work okay and from earlier discussions other members here have used them for day wear.

    I have two, one in brown (brass fittings) the other black (chrome fittings) due to the Armoured Corps in Australia deciding to change leather colours in the 1980s. I haven't worn either of them with the kilt as I'm not entirely comfortable with the idea of wearing old bits of military kit with civilian dress.

    I use mine. I just tuck the D rings away out of sight.
