SoCal and two new kilts
I spent the past weekend in Anaheim, at GenCon SoCal, a gaming convention. Had a great time going kilted all weekend (my first full weekend kilted), and I came away with a HUGE haul of kilt goodness:
Khaki Survival Utilikilt, original style.
Black Workmans Utilikilt
3 Kilt Belts
Utilikilt Tshirt
Not only did I get seriously kilted, but convinced two of my buddies to buy as well.
Utilikilt had the original Survival's on sale, because they had the new Survival in stock. Got to see the new Black survival, and boy is it a nice kilt. Also got a chance to see a sample of their new "Spartan" kilt, a sporting kilt made of (no joke) the same material as running shorts.
Add in getting to see someone airbrush a black workmans with flames and skulls, and it was quite the kilted weekend.

Seems to me a kilt made of the same material as running shorts would be blowing up in the slightest breeze exposing for all the world to see, as it were.

As far as the Spartan: the material seemed heavy enough to me to avoid the "fly up." It was the same material that basketball jersey's are made of..the lightweight material with small holes in it. No idea what the name of the material is unfortunately. I didn't notice whether or not it had pockets.
Re: Survival. Yeah, the old survivals were $175. Such an amazing deal, and when they had my size I was sold in no time flat.

Be careful when wearing the Survival. There is good reason that they were recalled, and the fabric revamped . However the wait for my replacement Survival is killing me (going on 5 months now).

Yeah, I plan on taking care of it. Worst case is that IF something happens, I ship it in for a repair. That's honestly the only reason I went ahead, knowing that UK would follow up on it if I had a problem.
