My Macdonald Lord of the Isles tank from Kathy's Kilts

Its my first hand sewn traditional. Beautiful. The swing on it is amazing! Very well made.

First kilt with those side belt things, seem to work okay. Fit is great.

Looking forward to wearing it to the company Holiday party at the bosses house this Saturday. Hopefully, my long awaited Craigie sporran strap will be here by then so I can strap on my Freelander Sporran.

One question. Kathy puts two cloth loops above the waistline on each side. New deal to me...for pulling the kilt on like a boot? To hand the kilt from? Do I leave them out or tuck them in?

So much to learn....

I would just think those were for hanging up the kilt.
And can be used on hangers that have the little hooks on them.

That's what I thought too. When wearing the kilt, I would definitely make sure they are tucked in.

I found that they didn't work all that well on mine. I ended up cutting them off after a couple of weeks.

Yeh, they're for hanging, but I've found the kilt doesn't hang very straight if you use them. I'd rather use a skirt hanger. If you don't cut 'em off, be sure to tuck 'em in when you wear the kilt!

It was fast! Placed the order with Kathy on November 1st. Picked up the kilt today at the post office on December 6th.

And, she had to order the fabric from Scotland before she could start sewing.

I do have to agree with Rufus, even though I love all my kilts, there is something magical about a traditional. Glad that you are happy with it Ron, it sounds as if she may be having a few more kilts to make from the guys here on the board.
