YOUR fantasy kilt...
What is your perfect kilt? What is the tartan and weight? Is it a Wizard, a Tewksbury, a Rocky? Box pleats or doubled box, maybe knife pleated. How many pleats? Dress or informal?
I see on another thread about a kilt with 80 pleats. I could sport that if I didn't have to steek all of those pleats. Enjoy your morning!

My fantasy kilt would be one in balmoral tartan with royal permission to wear it. Maybe as a reward for saving the Queen.
You did say fantasy!

I'd love to replace my beloved Sinclair 16oz with one made to look the same, but with the skill, exactitude, and strength that Steve puts into his Freedom Kilts. (Pockets too!  )

It is certainly a fantasy for now, but in the future, who knows? I'd go for a couple, both made by Steve, one in wool and one PV. Maclennan for the wool and either Anderson or Isle of Skye for the PV.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

I am lucky to have my fantasy kilt already. It is a Tewksbury 8 yard knife pleated kilt in the Scottish Wildcat Tartan which I designed with input from this community.

My fantasy kilt is mostly based on the material. I would love a kilt in Lamont Heather in the tonal range of the tartan in the link below. I am partial to pleating to the stripe, so I would probably go with that in knife pleats. As far as maker, I might be tempted to try my hand at it, but if I was going to get someone else I think I'd really like Barb T to do the job. I think that answers the questions. (some day I might have this material custom woven, so maybe not as much as a fantasy as some)

My next kilt is still in the dreaming/wishing phase, so it's still in the realm of fantasy, but it will be an eight-yard MacColl Ancient, pleated to the sett.
Should look smashing with my Lovat Green Argyll jacket.
The MacColls are my mother's clan, and we trace our line back to Iain Ban MacColl, the original progenitor of Clan Cholla, who is buried in Knock on the Isle of Mull.

I'd go for two 8yd by one of the fine XMarks kiltmakers.
16oz Clan Chattan modern & 16oz Wildcat tartan.

It just so happens that I have a special length of this on order with dyes matched to an 18th century specimen. There might even be some left over.

I’d be really interested to see it — MacColl is not one of the more readily available tartans, and there are awfully few photos of it on the web.
