    Red face Hello from Austria!

At first a big "Thank you" to the bord-team for granting the quick access to the forum, as second a friendly "Hello" to all board-members.

I´m Austrian, but I´ve since decades contact to Scottish & Irish people and did visit both countries in the past some times.

At each of my visits I was attracted by the "Kilt-Fashion" and bought one. But the years changed the size of my kilt (it decreased while hanging in the cabinet.... ) and now I would like to have a new one. So came the idea to create my own Tartan and (maybe!) bespoke it by myself.

Now I joined the forum for ideas an suggestions.

BTW - it´s gone popular to wear Kilts in Austria, because we´ve Celtic roots too, in our history.

Welcome from Ireland. I wore my kilt in Salzburg a few years ago and more recently in Germany.

I hope you enjoy the website. There are people from all over the world here.

Thank you very much for welcoming me on the site.

Salzburg is my Hometown.... On which event did you wore your kilt?

Well met and welcome. I loved the time I spent in the Bavarian region (1970's military years) and envy you for such beautiful land. My first kilt shrank also while hanging in the closet (and I grew a bit in the waist). There are ways to expand a kilt to make it bigger or smaller and many of the old postings cover that issue. You can explore that topic if you like.

Glad to have you with us and hope to learn more as time passes.

My size increased with a weight of +40 kg the last five years and I don´t believe, that any trick will help to fit my old kilt again.

A shame for certain, but so is life. A new kilt seems to be the solution, eh?

Yes, you´re right, it is a shame and life is shattering some times. The new kilt will not have impact on my physical situation, but it will make me surely happy.

And what a beautiful place it is too. I was there in August 2015 and wore my kilt the whole time I was there, including up in the mountains. There were broadcasts of opera from Vienna on screens in the main square.
I can remember having dinner on a terrace over looking the square and listening to the singing and another night I had dinner in the Science Museum that overlooks the city and watching the full moon rising over the mountains. I would gladly return to this enchanting place.
