Kilted Pictures Wanted
I'm looking for a picture of someone wearing a kilt in a historical context. claymore etc. In an action style shot. It can be an individual or smallish group. I want to use it to create an oil painting from. Thanks to some feedback, I'm broadening my search to some kind of kilted outdoor activity, but not pipes or bands.
I'm also interested in kilted indiciduals I can use to create digital art from.

No Result.
That's a shame. 95 views and not one response.

It may take a bit. Your request is pretty specific and I don't believe most of the members on this forum fit the description. You will need to wait until someone who specializes in reenacting historic kilts and weaponry spots it.
Perhaps a repost with a more specific title might attract some attention. And check the forum listings to see if there is a topic that is more in line with what you are looking for.
Cheers

You may wish to be more specific as "a kilt in a historical context. claymore etc.' is open to all sorts of interpretations. What historical context do you have in mind?

Yes, maybe I should broaden my search. It need not really be historical. I'm just not looking for the typical posed shot, something more natural.

It's hard to say, it's just one of those things you know when you see it. Most photos posted here are of the portrait style. Historical, I was kind of thinking a kilted reenactment group, it really doesn't matter what period, I'm setting myself a bit of an ambitious challenge. Most of my work is digital, using photoshop to blend and create artwork, but I do paint, and I thought this would be a nice subject. I'll broaden it to some kind of outdoor activity.

An idea
Not sure if this is what you are after but there is a tour group in Scotland run by a guy called Andrew McAlindon, they do Outlander style tours in period-ish attire (he himself was an extra in the show). You can find some of the photographs they have on Instagram under the username Andythehighlander. Alternatively, search on facebook for Reenactment Events Scotland, there's a list of events at various castles and battlefields with re-enactors from several historical periods. You may be able to contact one of the groups on there to see if they have anything like what you need.

If I interpret your original request correctly you need photos of someone dressed in 18th century (or earlier) Highland costume in the act of swordplay. I know there are XMarks members who maintain such costume, but I'm not one of them, so speaking for myself that's why I was one of the unresponsive viewers.
Out here in California we have Clan MacColin which dresses in 17th century Highland costume and does staged battles at our local Renaissance festivals. You could snap a load of photos of them in action and have plenty of source material for your painting.
I don't know if there are groups like Clan MacColin in Europe.

They would be perfect. There certainly aren't any such groups here in Spain, but I'll see if I can make contact with this group.
