MacDonald Lord of the Isles 4-yard box-pleat kilt, fly plaid, tie

*edit: see my reply #7 below. The items have been split up to sell individually.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

I bought this kilt and related accessories from another member here in 2011. I only wore the kilt a few times, and decided I prefer 8-yard kilts. It makes for a good summer kilt, though. It comes with a matching fly plaid (never worn by me) and a necktie. The tie is a smaller sett, and slightly lighter colours, but still the same tartan. (Kilt pin is no longer available.)

The tie is 3-1/4 inches wide by 56-1/2 inches long, labeled Ingles Buchan.

The kilt is 21-1/4 inches total length, with a 2 inch rise (from center of top buckle to top of kilt) and a 19-1/4 inch drop. It has an internal left strap/buckle and standard two external right side straps/buckles. Two belt loops at the rear. Double-fringed apron. When I measure from the internal buckle to the holes in the strap, I get 33 inches to 36 inches, which should be the range of waist it fits. Black lining inside, with full internal stabiliser, etc. There is no maker's label.

Please PM me if interested, or if you need more details.

Sorry for my terrible photos - I couldn't get the kilt to hang nicely on that crummy hanger and didn't want to lay it on the ground.

I love that tartan...waist might fit my goal weight. Do you know who sewed it up? Guessing that's the lighter 11 oz Lochcarron material....??

I wish I had kept the PMs from the member that sold it to me, but alas the 200 message limit forced me to delete it. And I don't remember the maker details. I *think* it was Matt Newsome, but I cannot verify that. I don't know if he installs labels in his kilts, but this one doesn't have a label.

As for the weight of the cloth, I couldn't say for sure. It feels like 16 oz cloth to me, but the lower yardage of the kilt compared to my others tends to confuse my sense of what it actually weighs.

That makes sense...Matt sewed a lot of box pleat kilts.

I'm down to a 38" waist but a ways to go before I can get into a 36 maxed out.

A proud tartan. Should sell fast.

I'm interested in the pin if you're willing to sell it separately. I realize it's kind of a themed package deal, but I'm a Macdonald and I already have a lord of the isles tartan kilt, even though this would likely fit me.

Macseobang, I've had a couple of other requests for individual items, but for the moment I'd like to keep everything together. If the package doesn't sell, then I'll split it up and you'll have first dibs on the pin.

I'm splitting up the items to sell individually.

    The kilt pin is sold.

The fly plaid is still available, and I will sell for $60 including shipping.

The tie is still available, and I will sell for $20 including shipping.

The kilt is still available, and I will sell for $295 including shipping.
