Red Hackle Day January 5th
Today is the day that the Black Watch celebrates the awarding of the red hackle worn in the regimental bonnet. Let us remember the past and current members of 3 Scots, Royal Regiment of Scotland and those former members of the Black Watch, Royal Highland Regiment.

Frank McFarland. . . his great nephew is my best friend. Frank was the last survivor of his RHR WWI battalion.
I once saw a recruiting poster for the Regiment which said, "Join the Black Watch and Wear the Red Hackle." I have looked, in vain, for a reproduction of that poster or even a photograph of it. Does anyone know where it can be found?
