For hiking, I use a fanny pack at the front, a little higher than regulation. (if there is such a thing!) But if you are walking a lot with a regular sporran, then you can hang it in such a way that it will swivel around to the side where it won't bounce. Pipe band drummers wear their sporrans that way when performing. It is also nice to have a way of raising and lowering your sporran so that when you are on your own walking or driving or whatever you wear it high close to the waist, and then when you go into a social setting amongst people, you can simply lower it where it looks better. - Alan
