Just thought I'd let you all know
Well, I just thought I would let you all know that I have been mainly kilted for the past 9 days. I have done things and gone places just like I do when in my jeans. I really do believe I have got over the last hurdle with regard to me wearing my kilt in my own locality. In the last 9 days only one remark was made to me by a guy who was showing off at the bar of a small pub we and 16 other friends went to last sunday for some beers and sunday lunch. Just the usual .. are'nt you cold in that ... did'nt even bother replying. Got a busy weekend in front of us and I intend remaining kilted. Ive added three more pictures that Ham has sent me from our last London meet in my personal gallery. Derek

Joe ... the party of us at the pub was made up of a few married couples and some parents. We have all known each other since school and girlfriends etc. I have never hidden my kilt from any of them .. they know I wear it as often as I can for its comfort and also my celtic roots etc. They don't think anything of it. There's a picture in my gallery of some of them when we all went out for some pub grub several weeks ago. There is one of them who was very impressed that I stayed very dry when we went walking a few weeks ago (again a piccy in my gallery)due to my kilt .. he has told me he is going to get one for walking in the spring and in the meantime he will gentle let his wife into his intentions. Well done Derek. I now wear my kilt each evening after work and go to my local pub in it, and I wear it all of every weekend, whatever Im doing.
One of the young locals in my pub is Welsh and he has just bought a full kilt outfit, although he has not worn it yet. I think he has the Welsh national tartan. Hopefully he will give it itsfirst outing over the holidays.

Good news Derek, I well know the struggles involved to coming to terms with doing something very radical like being kilted most of the time.
Nice photos, they make me homesick for London, I will be kilted next time I go there!
Did you find Hamish helpful and encouraging? (I'm sure he was).
Did he influence your decision to wear kilts more?

Graham ... Ham is one great guy. He certainly has been an inspiration to me. Sounds strange this but, we have now met twice for a day in London and as of yet we have not had a proper conversation as such about kilts etc .. we just spent the days together chating about all sorts of things and laughing a lot and enjoying each others company. Ham is coming over to stay with us in the new year for a few days so I know there will be lots of opportunities to dicuss kilts over a hot toddy around the fire .. as Ham knows only too well, it usually rains in Wales. Thanks Derek,
My Welsh Bowen blood thanks you.
Great pics...I am soooooo jealous.
Would be so cool if Ham wrote a book on contemporary kilts and accessories, fashion, etc.
