    Board Styles

Are you going to offer different board styles?
I would suggest the "myapple" style for us Mac lovers
It's a very clean board style.

Is this style not clean on a Mac?

Our one year anniversary is coming up in January and this is the first request I have had for a different style...

This style is clean and it's fine. I'm just a huge Mac fan and thought that would be cool. I've used boards like this before that offered a choice of styles on the profile page.
Not being picky, just thought I'd ask.

This is definately one of the best boards I've ever been to. You guys are doing a great job. I enjoy coming here every day.
    Keep up the great work

i'll start off by saying that i like this style/theme very much...but the thought has crossed my mind. i have visited multiple message boards for quite a while now and do enjoy the ability to 'mix it up' now and again. just a thought.

"Never touch a running system"* ;)

The style and the colours of this board are allright for me. No need to change anything.

    * I know that running systems have a need or are forced to develop further. Therefore it is only wishfull thinking, never to touch a running system. Also I earn money by touching running systems without breaking those down.

Just wanted to take a moment to clarify what is being discussed here...

A message board program, like phpbb (the one that xmarks runs on) generally has the ability to offer multiple styles or looks to the user, usually referred to as themes. These themes are often made available to the user in his or her own profile's preferences and, if chosen, affect only that particular user's "look and feel".

I believe Dana's original question was simply whether or not there were plans to add any additional themes, and if there were plans, he offered a suggestion for one he would like to see. I too mentioned that I have enjoyed the ability on other boards to change themes now and again.

If Hank doesn't want to get into it, that's totally fine. Customizing themes for a particular site can take time, especially on a site that has been put together so well. But, rest assured that if a choice of themes is ever offered, it would only affect those users who make the choice to try a different theme and would not have any effect on the overall look and feel of the board.

All of that said, I like the look of Xmarks quite a bit. The whole site is really tight; it is obviously a labour of love.

    i'll shut up now,

    -danny

I like the theme offered, it is very clean but, the Idea of diffrent themes is not a bad idea. i have never seen it in other colors so I don't know for a fact that it would not look better. (to my eye that is)
