The grey Argyll is a great piece I wear mine often or rather did, these days I tend to wear my brown vintage set more than anything. Having said that either kilt will work with the jacket and waistcoat you have. Instead of simply wearing black or grey hose, personally I would only wear black to a funeral these days, perhaps branching out to another colour like claret or perhaps even mustard would work. Recently I purchased a pair of purple hose from House of Cheviot and they have fast become a favourite. I was wearing my Black Watch today with oatmeal coloured hand knit hose, there are so many colours that work with the two tartans you have.

You could wear any colour hose that you wish, other than perhaps white. McMurdo’s excellent colour choices are but a few that can be worn to advantage.
