    Black Watch Tartan guitar.

Last year I was in the process of designing and building a guitar dedicated to the Black Watch Regiment. I posted a couple of questions regarding the Black Watch. The project has now been completed and the guitar handed over to raise money (by a raffle) for charity. Appropriately it was officially handed over in, Pattaya Thailand, on January 5th.......Red hackle Day. Someone asked for me to post photos of the finished guitar and so here they are. The face of the guitar was to be Black Watch tartan set in epoxy resin. I did not realise when I set out that the tartan, dark as it was, would appear even darker once set permanently in epoxy. Even after figuring out a way to lighten it the result was still dark but legend has it that the very name of the regiment came about because of the dark tartan appearing to be black, especially when it was wet.

Well, that's darn cool. And as a Telecaster owner/player I would definitely play that!

My cover band almost always plays with a green fill light. I'm wondering if the tartan isn't going to pop a lot more under that lighting. Could be really cool on stage. Great job! Well done!
