New sporran from recycled leather
So i just completed this sporran and thought I'd share with you fine folk. In Perth Western Australia we have a delightful event called street clean-up that occurs twice a year. Councils remove all your unwanted items from the kerb. So I removed the leather from quite a few couches that people have discarded.
This is the sporran I made from a well loved couch. The belt is a 1960's suit case strap that I picked up from a swop shop:

Very nice look. And the opening looks big enough to actually get a hand out with something in it. I sometimes have to fight with mine.
You're making me realize I need to follow your example and make one.

1. It's a handsome sporran.
2. It's made from reclaimed material, so it's economically and environmentally sensible.
3. There will not be anyone else with one exactly like it.
4. As already posted, it appears to be of a practical size. (I have one that is and one that isn't.)
Put all that together, and you may be truly said to have THE most perfect sporran. Thanks for sharing a great idea.
