Passing of fellow XMarker
It is with regret and sadness that I must inform the Rabble that ORVICE, aka Gerry Orvis, MSGT, USMC (ret) died the morning of 1 April due to a heart attack.
He will be buried with military honors at the Quantico National Cemetery, VA once the pandemic crisis has passed.
I've known Gerry for nearly 30 years and will miss our discussions.

I had heard this both via work and reenacting, but had not made a post about it. He will be missed is the understatement of the century.

We had some great correspondence over the years. A fine mind and genuinely nice chap. A great loss indeed.

Don't believe I ever had the pleasure, but loss of a kindred spirit is never welcome. Deepest condolences to the family and friends.

Gerry kept his day job to himself, but he was the type of guy Tom Clancy based characters on.......
