The blue in the Lochcarron Thompson Tartan is not a true blue but a blue/gray.

The no. 230 Gutterman, while it does look lighter, is not a bad match.

Thanks guys for your help - funny thing - the colour codes here in the UK seem to be different from those across the water. I have however found it so now just waiting for its arrival

Yes, you appear to be correct.
I have just found three different color charts for Gutterman, Sew-All thread.

Perhaps some are outdated and perhaps the numbers are different in different countries.

This sounds like a good question to Gutterman directly.
