OK, here’s the sequence of “action shots,” actually taken on Wednesday while standing still in my church office. 😏

My sister and brother and I had a blast at the Arizona Highland Celtic Festival in Flagstaff last year.

We actually hung out with the Tinkers in downtown Flagstaff on the Friday night (at the bar my siblings usually frequent) and then watched them play at the Festival on the Saturday. The kilt pin is a souvenir of a great weekend.

Very nice and you could easily pair the kilt/waistcoat with an Argyll for your local Burns Supper. Well done!

That's a great group of photos!

There used to be an "examples of TCHD" thread but I think it's been locked for a long time now. Your post should be on it!

This is a great example of Daywear. Well done, and something to show people who want to know how to successfully put together an outfit.

    Shaun:

In fact, I intend to do just that!

I'll probably make another thread showing variations of more formal dress with my black Argyll jacket and black or tartan waistcoats, up through "white tie with decorations" for the several formal events I attend each year.

Another thread beyond that should include variations that show clerical collar with both the lovat green tweed Argyll and the black Argyll.

But it's really hot and humid this week, so I may not rush into it.

Would be great if we had a forum where there was one thread per tartan which people could post "action shots" to. Essentially categorize pictures by tartan. It'd be an awesome way to see what people are pairing with them, and what works and doesn't. And it'd be nice to see actual categorized photos of kilts in tartans you're interested in instead of looking at a tartan on a computer and thinking "that looks nice, if the colors look like my screen". Isle of Skye, for instance, in my opinion looks like utter garbage in most of the artificially-generated tartan swatch images on kiltmakers' and mills' websites but looks beautiful in actual photos and in real life.
