Will The Real Walker Tartan Stand Up

My grandfather was a Walker so I will wear a Walker tartan. But which one. Being a newbie, I was surprised to find that there is more than one Walker tartan. So which is the "real" one? And what is the difference between Dress and Evening tartans? And do I have to be in the field to wear the Hunting tartan?

    Thanks for your forbearance.

You can wear any of those tartans you wish. The so-called 'dress' tartans tend however, to be worn more by women as they dance. "Hunting" tartan is named more for its colours than for any application.

Enjoy! As an aside, what does your clan chief wear? It might be a good guidance item from an important mentor.
