Oh that brings back fond memories, it does! Another year, another Games, some of the same friendly hospitable people.

I don't have much in the way of recent photos, especially nice formal-looking ones. Usually when I'm kilted I'm piping at a funeral or wedding somewhere, and I never see any photos. Looks like I'll have to do a photo shoot sometime!

I would have to go back to around 1980, in my early 20s, to find a nice posed formal Day Dress photo.

The tartan tie wasn't my choice.

This is a great shot. I always thought this was a professional model from that period. I don't even mind the tie. It was pretty common in Canada back then.

Here is my offering from the doorsteps of Dunvegan.

That’s a great shot! Love the location and the outfit.

I really love all these photos. This is the style I admire most.

Although there have been hundreds of photos of me kilted in China, most were taken by locals and not shared with me. I will have to get a good one of me in my tweed jacket when the weather cools down enough (it's still 90 degrees Fahrenheit most days and very humid right now).

    Shine your photo is fantastic!

One thing I noticed was that your jacket has neither the typical shiny square buttons nor the imitation horn buttons. Yours looks so classy.

It shows how nice an outfit can be built around a Weathered tartan kilt.

Is that jacket black or very deep grey? Whichever, it looks perfect.

Thank you for that. I believe that jacket is a dark grey wool blend. I think I bought it from Kilts4less about 5 or 6 years ago.
Fits well enough but not as good as my Scottish made jackets.

IIRC, this photo was taken in the late '90's. It was for a company that provided copyright free images. They edited out the laces from my brogues for some reason. Rights to the photo appear to have been bought by Getty, like just about every photo ever taken. Click image for larger version.
