Trinny In Vintage McLean Hunting Tartan
Trinny Woodall is a fashion & styling icon.
She does regular posts of her wardrobe and styling along with hair, makeup, shopping, etc
She went to Scotland for the weekend and showed what she packed
(Seriously Overpacked IMO)
About 10mins into the video she shows two beautiful vintage capes that can be worn together that belong to her mother
If it wasn’t spring heading into summer with NO Highland Games on the horizon DownUnder due to Covid I’d probably attempt to make this.

Utterly beautiful Highland women’s clothing .

The cape is really great. To be honest, as a guy, I would still totally love something like this to wear over my kilt on cold days, although I would probably go for a loud tweed rather than tartan. I seriously considered commissioning my tailor to attempt it, but moved from Beijing's brutal winters before I took action. Here on the beach on the South coast of China, it never gets cold enough to require such a thing. But it does look smashing on Trinny. And I love that it's her mother's.

To me it looks like what I know as an Inverness cape and I never realized they were two pieces.
(I have the rain version, with tartan trim {though I don't think mine is marketed specifically at women}, because I always wanted one, and a rainy day in Scotland at Cowal Highland Gathering gave me the excuse to buy one... mine is not in two separate pieces, though; they're attached.)
