my new hat

My sister-in-law made this for me but as it is southern california it was too hot to wear. It finally got less hot (I can't say cold as it doesn't really get cold here) so wore it on my hike in oak glen.

It was a very nice morning. There was even snow which grizzly hasn't seen in a long time.

There wasn't ice but the shadows and light gave the water a really cool (in my opinion) effect. I really liked the way these two shots turned out



This fern I have no idea what it is called but I liked how it looked

Birds normally fly away laughing at me because they didn't let me take their picture. This was must have been distracted because I did get 3 shots before he left

Looks like the size and shape of some of the 18th century bonnets, which the military revived around WWI for their khaki drab (olive drab) bonnets.

I had one of those and it was pretty good at keeping off the sun, more practical for California than the small Balmoral bonnets.
