That kilt is gorgeous!

I love the Wilson's colours, I just don't know why modern weavers don't use those more often. Our "modern colours" are generally too dark (though they do vary from firm to firm) and "ancient colours" are a bit too pastel, and also have that nasty orange.

I think it's why I've always had a soft spot for House Of Edgar's Muted Range.

But Wilson's are simply the best.

How good it is to see a project like this through to fruition. What a terrific tartan; and I am biased, I am a big fan of pleating to the stripe. Needless to say, I think it is stunning. Enjoy!

My clan tartan is also Colquhoun so I was particularly inspired by your post and look forward to pictures of the completed kilt worn in context with hose, jacket, etc.

The phrase 'a band of wild marauders in the colours of Colquhoun' comes to mind - can't think where from now - but that red certainly has impact.
