I just called the bar and spoke to the owner. He said that it's an informal thing. There's going to be a band (Celtic Spirit) and poetry readings. The food is all ala cart. I asked him if people got "decked out" or if it was casual or what the dress code was. He said "It's very casual aside from a bunch of guys in kilts. You can come in Jeans and a t shirt if you want". While I'm going in my kilt jacket and Scottish Natnl Traditional, it's not required. I still think you should get dressed up a bit out of respect for RB.

So far, I'm in. Thanks for calling them, Rocky. I seem to get the impression that the fourteenth is a Friday. If that's the case I'll have to pray I can get at least a half night off work, so it's really up to the powers that be. Hope to see you all there.

Robbie Burns Birthday Bash

The Third Annual Robbie Burns Birthday Bash will feature, as usual, the release of Gang Aft Agley Scotch Ale, Haggis and other Scottish treats, as well as bagpipes and lots of folks in kilts. This year, the band Celtic Spirit will be playing as well. More details as we firm things up, but start planning now. This is one of our biggest events of the year and you don't want to miss it.

Robert Burns Scotch & Ale Dinner

We celebrated his birthday in Phoenixville, now we honor Scotland's greatest poet with a groumet five course dinner. Each course will be accompanied by a world-class scotch and a Sly Fox ale. Welcoming beer at 6:30, first course served at 7 pm. More details, complete menu and price to follow. Reservations will be required.

I plan on being at the January 14 event. Sounds like a blast!!

remember... the Robbie Burns night is THIS COMING Friday. Is everyone else still planning on going? I know that Kelly and I have it on the events calandar. If anyone wants to "Caravan" to the bar, we'll be meeting at the shop and heading over... you're welcome to catch a ride with us!
