    MoD Style Brass Cantle

Here's a Culloden style brass cantle just completed. It has a spring steel latch and ball style knobs.

    Very nice.

I'm inspired to get my crafting head on - but guess I'd better finish building the workshop first (and then somehow find time to actually make things...

That is brilliant! I especially like the addition of extra knob finials on both sides, instead of just the single top finial that the MoD cantles have. It really changes the aesthetic, in a good way.

Very nice craftsmanship. Well done! So ...are you taking orders?

It's basically cutting, bending, soldering. The photos are self explanatory.

I hadn't thought of that. I can sort of understand it is put together. What sort of tools do you need to perform this work? Where would you recommend that I obtain the sort of brass needed to construct a cantle? What thickness would you recommend for brass sheets?
I have some saws and a dremel with a wide variety of bits and have experience with doing wood carving. I believe some of the bits are actually intended for sanding down metal.

    Thank you for the inspiration!
