Newbie question
Hi, this is my first post. Been lurking a while, figured it was time to finally register. Can't ask questions if you don't register.
I have a question about the House of Edgar Hebridean line. I was considering getting 4 yards to use as a great kilt. I've found it difficult to find much info about this line, other than the colors from pics, and that it's made of 14oz new wool.
I really like the color palette I've seen in pics. I have a swatch on the way, but I won't know until it gets here. Any thoughts or impressions?

No comment on the cloth, but welcome to the "Great Rabble"!

I'm brand new at this stuff. But I love great kilts. I attended the recent Highland Games here in NC, USA fully clad sporting a broadsword, dirk, and sgian dubh.
Here are my first feeble attempts at putting on a great kilt.
The fabric on that kilt was too thin. Had a devil of a time getting the pleats right. It'll come with patience, and thicker, heavier fabric. My dry cleaner has since ruined it, so I won't be wearing that one again. So one or two more great kilts are on the agenda soon. Maybe more later. This is an addicting thing.

I certainly will.
I've lurked long enough to know there are experts on this board on kilt making and kilt fabrics. I did reach out to HoE about their Hebridean line, though I haven't receivied a response as yet. But I suspect they're going to tell me all the positives. Whereas the experts here could give me non-biased impressions.
In particular I'm looking at the MacLeod Hebridean (not the MacLeod Dress Hebridean).
The palette makes me think of washed out indigo. The colors are not bright, but they're deep. Not as browned-out as a "weathered". I like it. I will share impressions when it arrives.
