Will Work for Coffee
Hell-o All,
As I was returning from errands today, I stopped in at the coffee shop, and all that were working were three young ladies.
A truck driver came in and said he had a delivery of green coffee beans (they roast as well as make the coffee). Another regular was also drinking away, when we both said that we would help unload the beans. Little did we know that it was four skids of 12-15 sacks of beans on each skid. These sacks weigh anywhere from 50-70 kilos each. We took them off the truck and placed them where they belong, it took about 45 minutes. After it was all done, the truck driver said he was worried about me lugging those beans all kilted and such. I was not worried and never gave it much of a thought, just a natural occurance.
Now I know how to train for the athletic events at all the gatherings

Yes, I prefer tea also, but Glen, if you come and work for me I'll give you free coffee!

That's some real lift'n and tote'n Glen
But for coffee I'd drive to Denver and do it.
By the way I have friends just off the I70 32/Youngfield (?) exit. They are probably in their place in Winter Park as we speak, just about time to wake up and strap on the skis. I might just "have to" take my kilts and mountian bike and drive out this summer.

I work at Stanford University in the Uni libraries. Between the main undergraduate library (Green Library) and my building is a very busy throughway. Tons of traffic uses this walkway/bikeway to go to and from the North dorms to the main part of campus where most of the classes are held.
Some years ago, the Uni libraries noticed this and built a small coffeehouse building on the spot. It's almost a kiosk, all the seating is outside. They leased out the space to a local smalltime coffee-roasting company..NOT Starbucks and not Peets...the biggest truly local coffee outfit. No, they chose a smller company. The coffee is good and they are making a bloody FORTUNE in this location. The rent is a good revenue stream for the libraries, too. You would not believe the number of students, librarians and staff that frequent the place.
I, of course spend a shockingly large part of my salary at "MoonBeans", like everyone else.
I am looking forward to the conversations that will most probably ensue, standing in line at MoonBeans, wearing my kilt.

Just fill an I.V. bag up with some good strong coffee (as long as it ISN'T Tim Horton's) and plug that puppy in to my arm. 3 kids (4 if you count the 6 foot tall one), a 'part time' job and kilts, caffeine's the only way to get through the day.
I had a substitute teacher in high school, I think he was filling in for my math teacher, who was fairly fresh off the plane from Scotland. He had a thermos and kept filling his cup all through class. One of the mouthier students said, "what's in the thermos, tea?". I think he thought he was being witty, you know, grade 9 students........... The sub informed him, and the rest of the class in a very firm tone that it was coffee and no self respecting Scot would be drinking tea! I remember it rather vividly.
I'm thinking he actually had a wee dram in there, probably a big dram, we were a pretty obnoxious class.
Patty.
