Hello my fellow x'ers!
I am very excited to have found this forum. Coming from a long line of Scots, I have many questions and look forward to learning more about the great dressware we call a Kilt. I recieved my first Kilt from my Grandad, Terry D Lawrence, Captain (ret) RCAF and proudly wore it on my wedding day. After he passed, I had it framed with the sporran, sgian-dubh, kilt pin, belt, and a list of the name bearers of Clan Gunn back to the 15th Century. I know what you're thinking.... Lawson is Clan Maclaren... You're riggt. My grandads mother was the last Gunn in our lineage and having died giving birth to her, I believe he felt a great deal of honour to wear her plaid.. and thus, I am honoured to display it with his and her name on the plaque.
A neat fact that we didn't even realize until the day was over (lots on the mind that day).... Our wedding day was the same day as my grandad's birthday..
X
