Clearing Out - Harris Tweed - what to do with it?

Bought this about the time we got married, so 35+ years ago. Seven yards (maybe meters?) of single width Harris Tweed. Includes the weaver's name and address (but I can't quite make it out; 13 Laxay? Carloway? Stornoway?). Blue/brown mix.

Found this after loosing track of it for many years. I bought it to get a coat and slacks made of it. That's not happening. My wife just told me she always thought it was for her, so I could score some points with her. I could get a kilt jacket made (she could do it). I could sell. What are your suggestions?

Do you need a kilt jacket? If no, how about a tweed kilt? Or sell it. I'm sure that they'd be lots of interest.

Should you decide to sell the tweed fabric, I have an interest. And I'm within easy driving distance in Scottsville NY.

I thought about a kilt jacket, but I'm not sure I need another one (maybe brown...). I hadn't thought about a tweed kilt though. Not sure that would be my cup of tea. I think if I ever do go for another kilt it will be tartan.

That tweed is amazing! Flecks of blues and browns, it looks like.

It would make a super kilt jacket, one that would "tone with" practically any tartan.

With 7 yards perhaps your other half could have something and you could have a jacket too? I had a length of Harris Tweed cloth------I can't remember if it was double or single width---- that my mother had put aside for some project or other, although I suspect it was for a riding habit. Anyway I rescued it and Haggarts(no longer in business) made a jacket and waistcoat for me and its still going strong some 30/40 years later.
