Campwear/Footwear
A rather specific question. When camping, not out hiking, just general out and about at a campground or RV resort, I tend to be rather casual; kilt, t-shirt and barefoot or sandals. But longer stays at campgrounds, there is greater likelihood of rain, puddles and mud to deal with. What do you folks resort to for water proof/ water resistant footwear in these conditions that clean easily with a spray of hose water, yet look respectable while wearing a kilt in a casual environment?
Thanks all. Slàinte!!!

I have not been camping for decades, but I do spend a lot of time outdoors, often in mud and water. If my brogues------not those dreadful ghillie things------ can't handle it then I retreat to my rubber wellingtons. I have done that for most of my life whilst kilted and the real plus is that wellingtons are easy to clean.

Yes a good pair of wellies - don't even need to take your hose off.

I have a pair of Vasque Sundowners--a leather hiking boot with a Gore-Tex lining. These are generally my go-to for casual kilt wear. They look good, are comfortable to wear, and are fully waterproof.

I’ve heard say that they protect against a dose of the ‘flu (or even pleurisy) - but I don’t think there’s any scientific evidence to support that hypothesis!)
