It's been a LONG time since I posted last! But I wanted to share this vintage-inspired kilt outfit I put together recently. The kilt I've had since '06, Macbeth tartan made by Barb Tewksbury. The Crail jacket and balmoral are new. I chose my favorite Loake brogues instead of ghillie brogues based on some old photos of gents in kilt suits.
To be honest, I had lost a lot of weight and shrank out of all my kilts. I got into vintage so have been wearing '40s and '50s suits. But over the pandemic I put the weight back on, so I fit in this kilt again for better or worse. If I ever manage to shed the weight again I'll put together another vintage-inspired kilt suit with a new kilt, but until then I like this.
