Finally some photos actually wearing the St Kilda "multicheck" Argyll.
I love how the jacket looks with the Hunting Stewart Weathered tweed.

That is a truly gorgeous jacket. Plus you wear it so well.

Thanks!
I've been hankering for a check tweed Argyll for ages. Vintage ones in my size never come up for sale, so I finally got a new one.
Interesting that I ended up with Marton Mills tweed both for my kilt and my jacket. That wasn't the original plan, it just so happened that my favourite Stewart fabric and the only check tweed available from St Kilda were both by MM.

Thanks!
The escaping from the black Argyll isn't yet complete and may never be.
Day before yesterday I piped at a funeral, it was hot, my tweed jackets are all too heavy, so the evil thing had to be worn.
There was a measure of redemption yesterday: I piped at a late-afternoon funeral on the coast, there was a lovely cool sea-breeze, and I wore my charcoal tweed Argyll from Geoffrey (Tailor) Edinburgh.

Good choice! But not it opens a new can of worms…why is the black argyle the go to for pipe bands as opposed to different a cut or colour?

Cost and ease of getting and replacing them.
