That comic was the brainchild of creator Johnny Hart who lived here in Broome County and has loaned his characters to various charities and businesses throughout the area, including the first and oldest pipe band [35 yrs old] the Broome County Celtic Pipes and Drums http://bccpd.org/
Always a gentleman and willing to help in anyway he could.
