Tartan generator question..
Are metallic threads such as silver or gold available for a self designed Tartan from the generator?
When ordering Tartan fabric custom woven, approx what would be the upcharge for metallic threads in the weave?
Thanks!

Simple answer, no it is not possible. Firstly, you would need to source a thread of an equivalent size but even if you did, no weaver would want it anywhere near their looms which are complex pieces of machinery and set up for weaving a completely different product.
In terms of a cloth, metal has no shrinkage and so it would result is an uneven finish (even if you could have it woven). And finally, incorporating a metal yarn would almost certainly have a deleterious effect on the main yarn and cause premature wear and most likely unintended damage.
