I attended the Scottish Society of Fredericksburg's Burn's Night. I shared a table with two of my XMarker buds. Geoff Withnell and SVC40BT, (John Samonsky), and their spouses. It was a great night being entertained by The University of Mary Washington Eagle Pipe Band and the Celtic band, Dragonfyre. Members of Dragonfyre, sang two of my favorite songs. James Brown sang Dougie MacLean's Caledonia. David Rich sang Robert Burn's "For 'a that and 'a that". Avril Bishop recited my favorite Burn's poem and most quoted, "To a Mouse". Troy Carter knocked in out of the park, again with his "Adress to the Haggis". Perry Darley did a fine rendering of "The Selkirk Grace". For my supper, I had a "time-out" from my plant-based way of eating to enjoy some Haggis. I got my neeps (turnips), too, but the tatties (mashed potatoes) were all gone from the serving table. A great evening, all in all.

When in doubt, end with a jig. - Robin McCauley
These can (and normally are) Great Events. I recently attended the Robert Burns Night sponsored and organized by the fine members of SGT John McGregor Post #1298, Scottish-American Military Society of Belton, Texas. I believe that a good time was had by all. I certainly enjoyed myself. Many thanks to this fine group that I intend to soon join. I'm getting to know well several of the members. They are a Good and Decent Group. All the rest of you Scots / Scot-Americans out there, Enjoy! Sip a Dram or toss one back and Enjoy yourselves!
