Which online store to buy tartan fabrics and swatches?

    Hello,

I hope you can help me telling some online stores which offer
a great number of tartan fabrics and have filter options for colours (two at least),
    weight etc.

I will make a (modified) dufflecoat, I fancy a black and dark red fabric.
But first, I will order swatches.

I found the ScotlandShop and Scotch Tweed. In the latter, I discovered what
I was looking for. But they don't answer!(?) (I could not finish the ordering
procedure because of a technical error and contacted them two times ...)

Can you help me with other stores?
    Thanks!

Most kiltmakers sell swatches as well as tartan cloth.

I would suggest tartan mills since they are the ones in Scotland that weave Tweeds and Tartans that kilt makers would use to make there kilts and jacket.

Which tartan did you decide on?

As you might know, tartans come in various colour-schemes, and the shade of red is different in each

    "modern colours" pure red
    "ancient colours" red-orange
"muted colours" (House of Edgar) a cool red a bit on the claret/burgundy side
"weathered colours" (Lochcarron, Marton Mills) soft less-saturated red

I don't know of any tartan colour-scheme that has a "dark" red.

There are a number of modern fashion tartans that use maroon, is that what you're looking for?
