Another Newbie
What a great benefactor Santa was! Got my first kilt in time for the works do with very positive reactions from my workmates. Had a problem with a bloke whose wife wanted to check up on the proverbial who I think had his nose put out out of joint as the saying goes.
Got the bug badly now and I have managed to get a vintage, hand-sewn kilt and a plain black aswell as the 'family' tartan, so It really is true- It is addictive!

Phil,
Glad that you found that the joy of kilting is a wonderful thing! Even a bit addictive, but a good addiction it is.
But more importantly WELCOME
Sit back and enjoy this wonderful band of really nice people, and even a few grumps

Wow!
You dove right in head-first with this, didn't you?! An authentic wool hand-sewn, and casual solid black AND the family tartan. You're pretty much covered for all the "eventuals".
As for the "what's up yours?" from the lady... well... that's just something that we all have to deal with. I've had worse situations in my life though.

Welcome aboard my kilted cousin.
Some of my ancestors came to the colonies from Yorkshire..
You're right about us being right about how addictive it is. You ain't seen nothin' yet.
God help you if you have any available credit on your charge cards...

Welcome to the home of kilted kin
I suppose living that far north you will fill us all with envy about 'quick shopping trips to Edinburgh' like Hamish does (except he's further away).
Enjoy your kilt, I shall be interested to hear of the response you get.

Thanks for the welcome
It's been great to get all of the welcomes. Thanks.
As for maxing out on the card, it's amazing what you can get on e-bay. I did order my family tartan kilt directly though,- so it wasn't quite as expensive as it sounds! I'll follow a few more threads on here before I try making my own though!
Good to hear from another Wright too. It's a small world really. Thank goodness some people can get on with each other civilly.(Ref. British press currently)
Looking forward to future postings,
Happy Kilting to all
Phil
