My e-bay kilt arrived!
Hits mid-knee, fits hips and waist perfectly. Was listed as a thirty inch waist - I was concerned it might be too small. My waist is a 32, and while not pear-shaped, I am female. Doesn't look tight or small to my eye.
It is a pretty green, blue, black, and yellow tartan, and based on results from the lighter... all wool. No tags. The inside seems to be constructed correctly with cotton canvas, from what little I actually know (Robert MacDonald videos). The selvage is turned under at the hem. Maybe a later alteration? One of the leather hip tabs is missing. That was a surprise, but it is not a big deal, as I have leather scraps to replace it. The fringe shows wear, but I don't see any moth holes, stains, or other damage.
Musty, and needs a good press. This cost me less than $40, and was purchased for hiking. I like it.

Sounds like a good buy. It would be great to see a picture.

if it was the lower outside strap, some people remove it. Its not a required strap, I have a PV kilt without that strap.

Hiked over 10 miles in this kilt today.
Windy, hot weather.
Very comfortable, much better than the long skirts I usually am in.

TEN MILES!!!
I have trouble hiking 10yds. Getting old is a bear, but it beats the alternative. Keep up hiking as long as you can. I used to love being out in the woods behind my house, but a stroke and age put an end to that.
