Wow what an impressive snare line!!

Beautifully turned-out band. I love the Bass drum graphics and your kilts are beautiful.

The most expensive things with a startup band are the kilts and the drums.

I play in a startup band, we couldn't afford to buy a whole "band set" of new kilts, so we did what a lot of new bands do: bought the "band set" of kilts from an existing band who were getting all new kilts.

We bought all of the Regina Police Pipe Band's old kilts. They were evidently switching to a different tartan.

By the way, your lovely kilts appear to be one of the members of this complex tartan-family:

May I ask what weight your kilts are, and what mill wove the tartan? Thanks!

The Regina Police Pipe Band!? That's so cool! What's the tartan? I'm not part of the band. The band was actually a resurrected band disbanded in 2003 and resurrected in 2023. The founder and PM was David Clyde. At the time he just been diagnosed with Parkinson's and had to step down. Since the rest of the band was young adults, life caught up with them and they couldn't come to practices like before. That's when the band disbanded.

Now that those life challenges are over, the band is back! The tartan is the Caledonia Ancient Heavyweight Tartan Fabric from Lochcarron pleated to the double strip on blue. David Clyde just created his own personal tartan just before his diagnoses. He authorized the band to use his tartan! They just finished making the new kilts and it should arrive any day now.

So if you know of any bands looking for a new tartan or kilts then hit me or the band up!(they will only take bulk orders)

I'd love to be able to talk our band into getting those Caledonia kilts!

But we're broke: we're going to Scotland for two weeks this August.

Here we are wearing those Regina Police kilts, the tartan is Prince Charles Edward Stuart.

Just so you know St. Patricks Day is not celebrated in Scotland to the extent ----if at all -----that you chaps do across the Atlantic. I think there is a parade of some sort in Glasgow, but I am not aware of any others here. The Irish Guards unsurprisingly do also celebrate the day wherever they happen to be based at the time.
