Scouting tartan

I am a long time scout leader and had the pleasure of being a scout master for one of the two troops from the south eastern corner of Philadelphia in 2019 where I picked up a blanket and a neckerchief in a commemorative tartan for the north American scouting organizations hosting the event.
I am interested in a kilt made of this tartan preferably PVC since most likely chances to wear are in the summer. I contemplated making a kilt from the blanket, but enjoy it too much in the winter time so unlikely.
The tartan was made by lochcarron.
Any suggestions? Seems like cost would be extreme as tartan was a one time thing.

May we see a picture of the tartan? One of our fellow X-Markers may be able to determine if it was named and recorded. It could be that it was a one-time-only run specifically for the event or that only specific persons can give the OK to make another run.

That's the one. What do you mean run across left over`s? I have considered contacting Lochcarron directly but wondered if there is a better approach.

Contacted Lochcarron and they indicate none of this tartan is left. I inquired about cost. Will be interesting to see how bad it is.

This Tartan was a very limited run for a World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia 2019. I was on the Scuba staff.
The registratration for the first of two personal tartans was approved while I was at the event.
The kilt was made by Burnet and Struth.

The scouts sold lots of Neckerchiefs in that Tartan.

The middle kilt is the one of interest. The two right most kilts are personal tartans.

The last time I made an inquiry to Locharrron about a custom weave for my tartan, they quoted me 180 GBP per meter with a min of 11 meters.

They could weave it, but they would go back to the WOSM for permission.

Got same info from Lochcarron. Bit pricy to do by myself. The neckerchief is my favorite of many I own. The WSJ was in 2019, I was a scout master and would love to have a kilt in that pattern. I also acquired a blanket and have played around with idea of making a kilt out of it, but I like watching TV with it too much so unlikely.
Are you still wearing the kilt? If not I might be interested. Waist around 40 inches.
Still an active scouter and it would be seen at scouting events.

You’re right, the WSJ was 2019. I worked in Scuba at both the 2017 Jamboree and 2019 WSJ.

I still use the kilt. It is about 36 waist. 24.5” length (a little short for me).

It was my first kilt. Before the WSJ, I would have never thought about a kilt. Then organizers planned the “Cultural” day. I was not going to wear cowboy hats, and boots(from Texas). My mom’s side and a little of my dad’s had Scottish/Irish heritage(clearances).

I got the kilt and wore it with a Texas Tech Basketball T-Shirt. Texas Tech went to the NCAA finals in 2019.
The kilt does have the 2019 WSJ logo on the inside.

I wore the Jamboree kilt one evening at this years NOAC in Boulder, CO.

I got these in trades because I got someone’s attention by wearing a kilt.

Lochcarrron has some frustrating marketing. The min weave is 11 meters at an extreme price. I really only wanted one kilt. What do I do with the extra 16 oz cloth. I asked about a scarf, etc. Scarves must be made out of 11oz cloth ��. In an ideal world maybe yes, I am just looking for ideas for excess cloth from a weave.

I passed. Robert McDonald ordered the cloth from DC Dalgliesh, and will be making the kilt.

I doubt that Lochcarron would give permission to weave. The WOSM might since they are the registrant. Dc Dalgliesh might be an option.
