It was sheer luck indeed. I went to every kilt shop I could find and that was the only bargain to be had in my size.

Oooh yes that would really elevate the jacket & waistcoat to another level. I love the look of those vintage Argyll jackets with the leather buttons, so elegant.
But for now the fact that I'm cheap and lazy has overridden maximising the potential this jacket offers.
(Here's an example of that.)
