					It is very interesting! 
 The main issue for me is that it's a square cantle, thus not interchangeable with my various sporrans.
 
 If I were to purchase it I'd send the cantle to Margaret Morrison for an all-new body, probably their "ocelot" fur.

 Interestingly it's merely stamped "Made In Scotland" but obviously is by Nicoll Brothers.

					Lovely spotted seal Evening sporran, silverplated cantle, by WE Scott, with the 1953 Patent stamp and scored back panel. 
 It's here in the USA, a fairly uncommon chance to get an in-country vintage seal sporran.

					Here's a similar sporran (with the "G" cantle) also by WE Scott, here with the scribe line across the back but lacking the 1953 Patent stamp. 
 I think this might be the artificial fur that they were using in the 1950s and perhaps into the 1960s.

					Got one, that was having similar errors. The patches seems to be a less well made repair.The one i have is made of sealskin. But the edge, is made of "slices of skin" glued on a backing. When i got mine, the glue had started to dissolve. Thus making a re gluing worthwhile.
