It dinna werk oot fer me to go aun oot
to the local scottish themed pub to celebrate
the great bards' birthday this 'een so I toasted
him in my home in the presence of my wee wife and
bairns and made them listen to me read "To a Mouse"
by same auld bard. They were less than enthralled.
May I offer a joke recently heard:
The Queen ventured north to Auld Reekie (Edinburgh)
to visit a new hospital.........the orderly led her
through the wings and units as she conversed with the
patients offering greetings and such........
At last, she visited one more wing.....approaching
a patient she said "and how are you today"? The
patient said "ahhhh great chieftain o' the puddin' race"!!
The Queen smiled and moved on......."and how are YOU
today"? The patient responded...."green grow the rashes oh, green grow the rashes oh...the dearest hours that ere I spent are spent amang the lasses oh"......"oh dear", said the Queen and moved on....
Approaching one more patient she bid him a fine good day whereupon he replied "ye wee, cowering, timorous beastie"!!......The Queen withdrew and quietly asked the orderly escorting her..."What is this? The mental ward? For the nutters"?
No, said the orderly........This is the Burns Unit.

Cheers and long live the memory of the immortal
Robbie..........
