Glad you are here. Pleased to hear you and your dad are still active on the piping scene. Unfortunately I can’t play the pipes anymore, too many health problems. I’ve been thinking of selling a bunch of my stuff.

Sorry to hear you're not still playing. I was actually in the Raleigh, NC area recently - picking up drums from Wake and District pipe band, and visited MacLellan Bagpipes shop in Zebulon, NC.

Thanks for joining! Your story is really cool, your dad being a piper and you being raised around the Scottish community.

This year marks 50 years since I got my first set of pipes. Though my dad grew up in a house full of music (his father and brother both played a variety of instruments) he didn't play anything, but had a deep appreciation of music and musicians, and was very supportive of me learning the pipes.

I'm doing the multi-band thing too, playing with a civilian band but also sitting in with the Sheriff band sometimes.
