The demise of D. C. Dalgleish is a great pity.
Although I have heard some people express their views of Dalgleish as a company to do busines with, my own experience is that they were co-operative and helpful - doing everything over the 'phone perfectly.
Their demise ends an era - and removes one of the last weavers that produced a high quality cloth with a proper kilting selvedge, and at double-width too. The commercial competition all seems to be tuck-in selvedge, which is less than ideal.
They will be missed.
But their end has caused a great deal of knock-on loss to kilt-makers who have paid for orders that remain unfulfilled. Hopefully, the receivers will honour the orders or issue refunds, but that seems a slim chance.
