Google's Photo Search for Kilt Pics

This may be old news, but haven't seen it mentioned. A War II board that I'm on pointed out that Google has a photo search option.

Typed in the word Kilt and got 18,000 hits, Kilts got about 8,000. They cut the pics off at about 800, but there's an incredible variety of pics from some great historic photos, to modern stuff, to peeking under kilts, to accidental exposures, and even a few cartoons.

    A nice browse.

    Google...

    Hi, Ron!

As a Reference Librarian, almost everything I do on the Internet as far as research goes comes from Google. Those of us in the library field love it because it so thorough in what it finds, although we are very quick to caveat that with always be very carfeful and even suspicious with what you find out there, because so many web sites appear to be reliable, when they're not.

We use the Google image seach almost every day searching for pictures, etc. of almost every type for students and instructors looking for items for overheads, Power Point presentations, etc.

    Cheers,

    Todd

I've found Google's image search to be an invaluable tool over the past few years.

My only suggestion is that you have the "moderate safe" designation on with your preferences at Google, if you're easily offended. Otherwise, just beware. If the person before you on the computer has turned it off, then you'd be amazed at some of the "interesting" pictures that come up when you search for kilt or even harmless things like chair.

    Not a Google fan

Although everyone raves about Google I find that it is not as good as my favorite Altavista.com.
Altavista image search always turns up more images than Google for a given subject. It also has a good 'adult content' filter that can be turned on to protect against unwanted 'naughties'

Give it a go and don't always assume "most popular=best"
